OCFA Open Houses at 25 Fire Stations Across Orange County | Saturday, October 3, 2026

Orange County Fire Authority is opening the doors of 25 neighborhood fire stations this Saturday, October 3, from 9 a.m. to noon. Kids can meet real firefighters, climb into the gear, and get up close to the engines they wave at on the street.
It’s free, there’s no RSVP, and there’s probably a station just a few minutes from your house.
What Are the OCFA Station Open Houses?
OCFA invites families inside participating fire stations for a relaxed, drop-in morning with the crews who serve their community. Instead of one giant event, it’s spread across dozens of cities, so the firefighters you meet are the ones who actually respond in your neighborhood.
Here’s what families can look forward to:
- 🚒 Station tours – See where firefighters eat, train, and gear up between calls.
- 🧑🚒 Meet the crew – Ask questions, swap high-fives, and learn what a firefighter’s day really looks like.
- 🚒 Fire engines up close – Check out the trucks and equipment that usually zoom past with sirens on.
- 🧯 Turnout gear – Little ones can see (and often try on) the heavy coats and helmets firefighters wear.
- 🔥 Fire safety tips – Pick up practical advice to keep your family safe at home.
- 👩🚒 Free admission – No tickets, no reservations, no cost.
What To Expect at Your Local OCFA Fire Station
Before You Go
- Find your closest station in the list below. Irvine has four participating stations to choose from.
- Arrive early for smaller crowds and the most one-on-one time with the crew.
- Wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes for walking around the apparatus bay.
At the Station
- Let kids lead with their questions. Firefighters love answering them.
- Keep little hands close in the engine bay and follow crew directions.
- Crews remain in service, so an engine may need to leave for a call. If it happens, consider it a bonus live demo.
Best For
- All ages are welcome, with toddlers through elementary schoolers getting the biggest thrill.
- Stroller-friendly, though parking may be limited at some stations. Check nearby street parking.
