Discover opera with a show written just for kids, plus interactive arts workshops at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.
Kick off the morning at 10am with art, music, and dance workshops. Sing, dance, act, and craft one-of-a-kind souvenirs alongside LA Opera artists and professional choreographers.
Catch the Open Door Days performance at 11am, a world tour through famous operas featuring cowboys, bullfighters, Parisian party-goers, a very sad clown, and a pair of (literal) lovebirds.
Hear selections from Bizet’s Carmen, Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci, Mozart’s The Magic Flute, and Puccini’s La Bohème and The Girl of the Golden West. Learn about the conductor leading the orchestra, the supertitles that help audiences follow along, and meet some of LA Opera’s local arts partners.
Activities include:
- Arts and crafts
- Vocal warm-ups and singing
- Dance with professional choreographers
- Kid-friendly opera performance
- Meet local arts partners
The program is designed for children (ages 3–9), but all ages are welcome. All guests, regardless of age, must have a ticket to attend the performance.
