Upper Newport Bay Nature Preserve

Upper Newport Bay Nature Preserve totals approximately 135 acres and includes a 10,000 square-foot interpretive center with exhibits and interactive displays.

The Nature Preserve is part of the 1,000-acre coastal wetland that is home to many rare or endangered species and plant life. This coastal wetland, one of the largest in southern California, is renowned as one of the finest bird watching sites in North America.

Fun programs offered include stargazing, canoe and kayak tours, sunset strolls, storytelling, crafts, and much more.

KG Tip: Boo at the Bay: Family Halloween Party will take place October 28, 2023, at the Interpretive Center featuring spooky stories, creepy crafts, weird science experiments, bizarre animals, and hair-raising games.
