· South Coast Botanic Garden
This 87-acre Botanic Garden has more than 2,500 different species of plants. Popular features include the Bohannon Rose Garden, Living Wall, Desert Garden, Japanese Garden and koi pond, 10 meadows, and more. Kids will enjoy a visit to their Children’s Garden, developed around nursery rhymes with plants to match the stories.
Plus, the Garden has back-to-back exhibits for families this season:
SOAR – Monarch Migration takes over the butterfly pavilion October 1 – November 30, showcasing the species’ important conservation and migration story. You’ll be surrounded by hundreds of butterflies and learn to tell the difference between a monarch and a mimic (a butterfly that looks like a monarch but isn’t).
GLOW – GLOW is being reimagined for its sophomore year. Food, drinks, music and a transformative Garden featuring thousands of lights will have you partying on the beach, drinking cocktails on the bayou and chasing waterfalls from November 20 through January 17, 2022. Call or visit the website for ticketing information on either event.
