South Coast Botanic Garden

This 87-acre Botanic Garden has more than 2,500 different species of plants. Popular features include the Bohannon Rose Garden, Living Wall, Desert Garden, Japanese Garden and koi pond, 10 meadows, and more. Kids will enjoy the Children’s Garden that is developed around nursery rhymes with a variety of plants to match the stories.

Newest Exhibits: 

Art Meets Nature exhibit, Hide and Seek, features eight works, including two contemporary pieces owned by South Coast Botanic Garden, and six modern works from the collection of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.

The Flamboyance exhibit features than 100 topiary animals presented in six groupings. Also displays 70 life-sized flamingos filled with begonias. Free with Garden general admission ticket.

SOAR – Through July 31. Immerse yourself in the life of a tropical butterfly with South Coast Botanic Garden’s SOAR. Your journey begins as you step into the Host and Nectar Garden for an up close view of the butterfly habitat and the emergence of new species. Follow a guided tour as you interact with new tropical butterflies and view unique aspects of their lives. Build photo worthy experiences with these fluttering beauties of nature.
