San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary
Wetlands cover 300 acres at this tranquil preserve. The Sanctuary is home to hundreds of species of birds, mammals, insects, reptiles, crustaceans, and other creatures native to the San Joaquin Valley. Visitors can walk along 12 miles of trails and watch the more than 200 bird species that visit the marsh.
The Marsh also serves as a living laboratory for students, teachers and the public. In cooperation with Discovery Cube Orange County and the local chapter of the National Audubon Society, people can enjoy a variety of wildlife educational programs and tours, including a school field trip program.
