San Diego Air & Space Museum in Balboa Park
One of the world’s premier air and space-themed science centers and museum with more than 120 aircraft and space vehicles and two million artifacts on display. The exhibits include rare and unique aircraft engines, instruments, models and equipment, as well as aviation-related medals, trophies, art, uniforms and spacesuits.
Galileo: Space Visionary Special Exhibit: an interactive, family-friendly special exhibition by the Artisans of Florence. The exhibit provides a hands-on, interactive exhibition engaging visitors by revealing the secrets of Galileo’s groundbreaking science through interactive experiments and exhibits. Offers over 65 exhibits expertly handcrafted in Italy, historical documents, true ‘hands-on’ interactivity, award-winning craftsmanship, a young experimenters STEM lab, unique exhibits and content, and international appeal.
American Women of Flight Special Exhibit: Honors the contributions to the world of aviation of women. Notable aviatrixes such as Bessie Coleman, Jacqueline Cochran, Fran Bera, Sally Ride, and many others are features.
SPACE: Our Greatest Adventure Special Exhibit: A new educational, interactive special exhibition exploring mankind’s quest for the stars. The exhibit features hands-on learning experiences, selfie stations on the Moon, Mars and the International Space Station, and informative videos and smart touch screens.
More exhibits include the World War I Gallery, World War II Gallery, Theodore Gildred Rotunda, Modern Jet & Space Age Gallery, Golden Age of Flight Gallery, and the Edwin D. McKellar Pavilion of Flight.
Summer camp, workshops, preschool programs, and Pilot Ground School are offered. Birthday party packages also available.

Gillespie Field
Serves as an additional exhibit space for its growing collection, as well as a storage and restoration facility. The exhibit includes the S-3 Viking, the P2 Neptune, and Baron Hilton’s Staggerwing. From a small one-hangar beginning, the San Diego Air & Space Museum’s annex at Gillespie Field has grown to become an integral part of the Museum’s aircraft restoration and replica reproduction program.
