Gibbon Conservation Center
The Gibbon Conservation Center promotes the conservation, study and care of gibbons through public education and habitat preservation. The GCC houses the rarest group of apes in the Western Hemisphere and is the only institution in the world to house and breed all four classifications of gibbon.
There are limited opportunities for volunteers to enroll in the special “Assistant Caregiver for a Day” Program where they will join staff members and go over safety training, preparing food, carrying buckets, learning about the individual gibbon and family dynamics, and at the staff members discretion, toss food to the gibbons.
Public and private tours offered. Everyone must remain with the tour guide no exceptions.
