Bolsa Chica Wetlands

At 1,449 acres, the Bolsa Chica Wetlands is the largest saltwater marsh between Monterey Bay and the Tijuana River Estuary. Approximately five miles of trails can be explored from sunrise to sunset. Visitors may feed and learn about wetland wildlife at their interpretive center.

Free public tours are available, along with public service days, learning programs, events and Summer Wetlands Explorer Program (grades K-7). Learning programs is found under School Visits which offers a full spectrum of educational opportunities and activities for students in grades TK-College. Students will come to understand the importance of wetland habitats as well as the role they play in maintaining the health of watersheds, wetlands, and oceans. Provided activities or projects are different based on each age group.
