Aquarium of the Pacific Summer Camp
Dive into ocean learning with the Aquarium of the Pacific’s Summer Camp. Through weeklong day camps, participants (ages 7-12) will explore the Aquarium an hour before it opens to the public and participate in activities to learn more about marine life and habitats. The themes of the camp alternate weekly, starting with Critter Spotlight on June 14 followed by Ocean Habitats on June 21. Both are held Mondays – Fridays, 8 a.m. to noon.
June 21-25; July 5-9; July 19-23; August 2-6; or August 16-20
During the Ocean Habitats camp, your explorer will be learning about the habitats found in and along our ocean and discovering how animals are adapted to thrive in each habitat. In this weeklong-camp, Aquarium educators will cover various topics such as the importance of wetlands, the effects of climate change on kelp forests and coral reefs, and the challenges of living in extreme habitats, such as the open sea and tidepools.
June 14-18; June 28- July 2; July 12-16; July 26-30; August 9-13; or August 23-27
The Critter Spotlight camp will focus on the animals that call our ocean home, and participants will explore the adaptations and behaviors of these creatures. During this week-long camp, participants can learn about sharks, fish, otters, birds, and invertebrates such as the octopus and sea jellies.
Summer camps include safety protocols, including the use of masks, social distancing, temperature checks, and health screenings.
