Walt Disney’s Carolwood Barn Public Day | Griffith Park, Los Angeles

Tour Walt Disney’s original home workshop — the Carolwood Barn — and explore displays celebrating the history of backyard railroading and the early roots of Disney Imagineering.

See treasures from the backyard railroads of Walt Disney, Ward Kimball, and Ollie Johnston, plus watch an operating model of Disneyland’s classic Mine Train Through Nature’s Wonderland attraction.

Also on the property: the restored Santa Fe and Disneyland Railroad combine car and Ollie Johnston’s backyard La Canada Valley Railroad depot.

Highlights include:

  • Tour of Walt Disney’s Carolwood Barn
  • Backyard railroad displays from Walt Disney, Ward Kimball, and Ollie Johnston
  • Operating model of the Mine Train Through Nature’s Wonderland
  • Restored Santa Fe and Disneyland Railroad combine car
  • Ollie Johnston’s La Canada Valley Railroad depot
  • Flag retreat ceremony at 2:30pm

Reservations and tickets are not required. Parking is free and available on a first-come, first-served basis. The Carolwood Foundation is open to the public on the third Sunday of each month.
