Celebrate stories, culture, and community at the second annual Nikkei Children’s Book Festival, honoring AAPI Heritage Month, Children’s Book Week, and Kodomo no Hi.
This year’s theme highlights heroes of all ages who have shaped and strengthened the community, brought to life through engaging storytimes, author meet-and-greets, and hands-on activities for families.
What to expect:

- Arts and crafts for all ages
- Pop-up bookstore from the JANM Store
- Special guest readings, including actor Derek Mio
- Featured creators from beloved children’s books across the Nikkei community
Meet authors and illustrators behind titles like Love in the Library, Unbreakable, Kimi the Ballerina, and Chibi Usagi, and explore stories centered on resilience, history, and imagination.
