Celebrate Free Comic Book Day at both Whittier Public Library locations with free comics, Star Wars fun, and hands-on activities for all ages.
At the Central Library (7344 Washington Ave.), snap a photo with members of the 501st SoCal Garrison from 11am–1pm, then join artist Ernie Moreno (@neoernie) for a character design demo with sessions at 11:30am and 1pm. Button-making is also available in the MakerSpace.
At the Whittwood Branch (10537 Santa Gertrudes Ave.), children (ages 5–12) can drop in for Star Wars-themed crafts from 11am–1pm. Registration is required for the Whittwood Branch craft activity.
Free comics are available at all reference desks at both locations.
Activities include:
- Free Star Wars photo op with 501st SoCal Garrison (Central, 11am–1pm)
- Character design demo with Ernie Moreno (Central, 11:30am & 1pm)
- Button-making in the MakerSpace (Central)
- Star Wars-themed crafts for kids ages 5–12 (Whittwood Branch, registration required)
- Free comics at both locations
