Join the Marine Mammal Care Center every Sunday for an hour-long, hands-on science experience guided by marine experts. Families can explore ocean conservation, marine mammal rescue, climate science, animal anatomy, acoustics, and more. Admission includes full access to the visitor center, interactive exhibits, and patient viewing windows. Spots fill quickly, early reservations are encouraged. Ages 8+ recommended; adults must accompany children 13 and under.

  • May 17: Marine Mammal Researchers – Learn how marine mammal scientists track and care for animals along the coast.
  • May 24: The Acidification Adventure – Hands-on exploration of ocean chemistry, climate change, and pH levels.
  • June 14: Inkcredible Squid Science – Interactive squid dissection lab exploring cephalopod anatomy and adaptations.
  • June 28: Amazing Algae – Discover Southern California seaweed and create your own algae press artwork.
  • July 5: Meet the Flipper Friends – Explore the world of seals, sea lions, and other marine mammals.
  • July 12: Secrets of the Whales – Learn how whales and dolphins communicate, navigate, and use echolocation.
  • July 19: Polar Bear Pals – Discover how polar bears survive and thrive in the Arctic.
  • July 26: Sea Otter Guardians – Learn about sea otter conservation and why otters are vital to ocean ecosystems.
  • August 2: Mermaids of the Sea Grass – Explore the fascinating adaptations of manatees and their coastal habitats.
  • August 9: Meet Your Ocean Neighbors – Discover the marine mammals that live along the Los Angeles coastline.
