Toro Nagashi Ceremony at the Japanese Friendship Garden in San Diego
Augsut 8-9: A ceremony to honor those who have passed. The floating lanterns commemorate loved ones and wish them peace. Guests will be able to float their candle-lit lanterns (LED candles) in the lower garden stream during the festival.
Children’s Day at Japanese Friendship Garden in San Diego
May 4: Make special koinobori, play games, and eat kashiwamochi. Performances will run throughout the day. Guests can also enjoy wearing yukatas.
Cherry Blossom Festival in San Diego
MARCH 7-10: Families can visit the children's area for games and enjoy performances including taiko drums, geisha opera, lion dance, cosplay contest, and kendo demonstrations.
