Sesame Place San Diego Moves to Seasonal Schedule — Closing September 21, 2025

Sesame Place San Diego announced on social media that the park will move to a seasonal operation schedule. Their final day of the 2025 season is Sunday, September 21, meaning the popular Halloween and Christmas events are no longer happening. The park says it will reopen in Spring 2026.

The news comes as a surprise to many families, especially season pass holders and those who had been planning for Sesame Place’s Halloween and Christmas events.

For Sesame Street Fans

If your family was looking forward to seeing their favorite Sesame Street characters this year, you’re in luck!

Sesame Street Live! Elmo & Friends Say Hello kicks off its tour next month, with stops in Los Angeles on Thursday, October 9 and at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday, October 11, 2025.

The new stage show brings Elmo, Abby Cadabby, Cookie Monster, and the gang to town for an interactive adventure. Families can sing, dance, and play along while joining Elmo’s puppy, Tango, in a lively game of hide-and-seek. With music, movement, and plenty of chances to say hello to familiar faces, it’s a fun way to keep the Sesame Street magic alive this fall.
