Mother’s Day Picnics at Mission San Juan Capistrano
SUNDAY, MAY 9: Enjoy a picnic in the Central Courtyard of Mission San Juan Capistrano. Book a picnic space and bring your own meal -OR- book through Pacific Picnic Company to create a picnic experience that includes seating, decor, and a meal.
Capistrano Lights at Mission San Juan Capistrano
DECEMBER 7-29: Enjoy performances by Dickens-era Carolers and take selfies with Santa. Visit the Serra Chapel open after hours, Californiaโs most historic chapel. Enjoy the Mission in lights, community Christmas trees around the grounds, extended holiday shopping hours in the Mission Store and more. Kids craft vendor and sweet treat vendor will be available on select days as well as surprise performances.
St. Joseph’s Day and Return of the Swallows Celebration at Mission San Juan Capistrano
March 19: Celebrate the return of swallows to Capistrano. Hear the ringing of historic bells, enjoy live Mariachi music, Native American storytelling, Flamenco dance performances, and activity stations for kids.
Field of Honor at Mission San Juan Capistrano
May 20-27: The Field of Honor display will consist of up to 400 American flags strategically placed on the grounds of the Mission in honor of military, veterans, first responders, including K-9 and equestrian heroes.
