Lakewood Recreation and Community Services Family Camp

Lakewood Winter Vacation Park Program + Santa + Candy Cane Hunt
DECEMBER 20-31: Holiday activities at Lakewood parks activities will include winter holiday craft projects, indoor and outdoor games, and fun with food. Plus, Santa will make an early appearance on Saturday, December 18 at each of the parks, followed by a candy cane hunt.
Earth Walk in Lakewood
MARCH 12: Children and adults will learn what they can do to help keep the earth beautiful and protected as they enjoy a nature walk lead by a knowledgeable guide. They will visit stations along the trail to get their passport stamped with specialty Earth Walk stamps. Completed passports earn participants a special Earth Walk gift. Free.
Daddy Daughter Date Night in Lakewood
FRIDAY, ARPIL 1: Enjoy a semi-formal affair featuring a fabulous dinner followed by an evening of dancing. There will be contests throughout the evening, including the crowning of a king and princess!

DECEMBER 9: Gather your family, load the car with blankets and join us for a Holiday themed drive-in movie experience at the Lakewood Center Mall north parking lot, near the El Torito restaurant. Free goody bags will be given to each car.
Lakewood Run
MARCH 2: Join deputy sheriffs, recreational runners, families and kids at the starting line in front of the Lakewood Sheriff’s Station to run, walk, ruck or wheel the event’s 5K/10K Run course. New this year is the 5K Ruck Division to honor military warriors.
FUN-tastic Family Night – Mad Science LA: Up, Up and Away in Lakewood
JULY 19: A Mad Scientist will demonstrate the qualities of air pressure in this science action show, audience will have the opportunity to interact and participate. Food will be served prior to show.
Family Scavenger Hunt at Lakewood Center Mall
JULY 26: Bring the family to participate in a scavenger hunt at the Lakewood Center Mall. Race against other teams to answer Lakewood trivia and locate secret destinations within the mall.
Parents Night Out, Kids Night In at Lakewood Youth Center
AUGUST 2: Bring the kids to the Youth Center and enjoy an evening out. Kids will have pizza dinner, snacks, games and more. Pre-registration is required.
Movie Night at Palms Park in Lakewood
OCTOBER 11: Bring your lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy a free viewing of Ghost Busters: Frozen Empire under the stars. Hot chocolate and popcorn will be available, while supplies last.
Family Camp in Lakewood
OCTOBER 19-20: Parents and their children ages 3-11 can enjoy an outdoor experience together and spend a night out under the stars at Monte Verde Park. Activities include games, crafts, nature walks, roasting marshmallows and singing around the campfire. All meals and snacks are prepared so parents can sit back, relax and enjoy nature with their children.
Halloween Carnivals with City of Lakewood Parks
OCTOBER 31: Special carnival activities will be held at Biscailuz, Bloomfield, Bolivar, Boyar, Del Valle, Mayfair, Palms and San Martin parks. Inflatable attractions will be at Mayfair for an additional fee.
Lakewood Tree Lighting
DECEMBER 6: Activities include lots of falling snow, holiday musical entertainment, holiday photo ops, costumed characters, and food trucks.
Winter-Break Excursions to SkyZone & Boomers
DECEMBER 27 & JANUARY 3: Participants, ages 6-12, can enjoy two special excursions during winter-break: Sky Zone and Boomers. Activities will be provided from 7 a.m. - 6 p.m.
