The Ocean Institute is a community-based organization that educates 100,000 children, teachers, parents, and visitors annually through over 60 marine science and maritime history programs.
Headlands and Beyond exhibit area is included with tours featuring an intertidal touch tank, artifact displays, pop-up experiments, and children’s playscape. A new marine education center focusing on sharks opens in 2020.
Sunday tours and presentations aboard the historic tallship Pilgrim. Guided 30-minute tours offer a behind-the-scenes view of one of their learning centers and are available Monday – Friday.
