Long Beach Parks, Recreation and Marine – Summer Day Camps (2026)
Three ways to explore summer in Long Beach – parks, beaches, and nature!
Long Beach Parks, Recreation & Marine offers multiple summer camp experiences for youth ages 3 to 12. Families can choose from traditional park day camps, beach-based aquatics camps, or hands-on nature discovery programs — all designed to keep kids active, learning, and engaged all summer long.
Registration begins April 11 at 9 a.m. through the online portal. Financial assistance is available on a first-come, first-served basis for eligible families.
Program Highlights:
Summer Day Camps | Neighborhood park camps filled with games, crafts, fitness, enrichment, and weekly activities.
Aquatics Beach Camps | Swimming, canoeing, kayaking, beach play, American Red Cross swim lessons, and marine science exploration.
Nature Discovery Camps | Hands-on investigation, crafts, environmental learning, and themed weekly sessions at El Dorado Nature Center.
Program Details:
Ages: 3–12 (varies by program)
Dates: June 15 – August 21, 2026 (Discovery sessions vary by week)
Location: Long Beach, CA (Multiple Sites)
Summer Day Camps (Ages 5–12)
Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Extended Care: 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Cost: $115 per week (9 a.m. – 4 p.m.)
$150 per week with extended care (7 a.m. – 6 p.m.)
Field trips and select activities may require additional fees.

Belmont Junior Beach Camp (Ages 5–7)
Campers enjoy games, crafts, beach play, songs, American Red Cross swim lessons, excursions, and weekly canoeing and kayaking at Leeway Sailing Center.
Requirement: Must have full-day preschool or kindergarten experience.
Bayshore Beach Camp (Ages 8–12)
Includes canoeing, kayaking, swimming, crafts, excursions, and environmental activities such as marine biology lessons.

Summer Kid’s Discovery Camps – El Dorado Nature Center

Children explore nature through investigation, hands-on activities, games, and crafts. Pre-registration is required and begins April 11.
Preschool Sessions (Ages 3–5)
Hours: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Requirement: Must be potty-trained. Not a parent participation class.

Youth Sessions (Ages 5–8)
Hours: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Requirement: Must have completed kindergarten.

July 20–24: Learning to Fly
Aug. 3–7: Jr. Marine Scientist

Registration: The online portal can be accessed through a personal home computer or smartphone, or at the camp sites listed below on April 11, 2026. PRM staff will be onsite with internet capable devices for families to self-register at the locations listed below. Staff will be available to assist with registration questions, but customers will be responsible for self-enrollment. These locations will open at 8 a.m. and registration for all customers, both online and self-serve enrollment, will begin at 9 a.m.
