We all know that the Winter Solstice is the shortest day of the year, but most people are unaware that โsolsticeโ also describes the specific moment when the earthโs axis is aimed furthest away from the sun!
Join OC Parks staff on a winter solstice hike at Upper Newport Bay to take a break from the holiday festivities, burn some calories, and count down to the solstice. This hike is about 2-3 miles on well developed trails with some hills. Minors aged 16 and younger must have legal guardian present at all times. Rain will cancel the event.
