The Lizard & El Sol | Parks Across Pasadena & Altadena

Saturday, April 4 - Sunday, May 3

April 4 – May 3, 2026
Showtimes vary by date

Pasadena Playhouse brings a free outdoor theater experience to local parks, designed especially for children ages 0-5 and their families. This relaxed, community-centered program introduces young audiences to live performance through storytelling, music, and hands-on creativity.

Adapted from a beloved folktale by Alma Flor Ada, this bilingual (Spanish/English-friendly) production follows a brave little lizard on a journey to bring back the sun. With live music, colorful visuals, and a heartwarming message, it’s a joyful and accessible first theater experience for young children.

Each performance runs about 20–25 minutes and includes a pre-show experience plus post-show arts and crafts activities. Families are encouraged to bring picnic blankets and snacks to enjoy a morning in the park.
