Fourth of July Observance & Ringing of the Korean Friendship Bell in San Pedro

Friday, July 4

Friday, July 4, 2025

One of San Pedroโ€™s most meaningful traditions returns for its 48th year with the annual Fourth of July Community Observance at the Korean Bell of Friendship. This free event brings the community together to honor Independence Day with cultural performances, guest speakers, and the powerful ceremonial ringing of the bell.

The ceremony concludes with the bell ringing 13 timesโ€”once for each of the original American coloniesโ€”as community members recite the names of the states. It’s a thoughtful and symbolic tradition set in one of LA’s most scenic locations.

Activities include:

  • Cultural performances and guest speakers
  • Ceremony honoring the 13 original colonies
  • Ringing of the Korean Bell
  • Community celebration in a historic setting

Free and open to all ages.
