Carnival of the Animals Family Concert in Long Beach

Long Beach Symphony and RuMBa Foundation Family Concerts presents Carnival of the Animals! This festival-style event is filled with activities, live music, interactive booths, and food.

๐ŸŽต Activities include (1-5 pm):

  • Playing with symphonic musical instruments at theย Instrument Petting Zoo
  • Crafting batons for Conducting 101 with assistant conductors
  • Creating arts and crafts withย Long Beach Public Library
  • Acting withย Jewel Box Children’s Theater
  • Plus: photo ops, lawn games, and more!

๐ŸŽต Multi-cultural performances include (3-4 pm):

  • Maestro Eckart Preu’s original remix of Saint-Saรซns’ “Carnival of the Animals”
  • “The Eagle” by Native American Wild Horses Singers
  • “The Kinnari” by Ho Chan’s Cambodian Pin Peat Ensemble
  • “The Panda” by Chinese Erhu player, Karen Han
  • “The Swan” by Cello player, Gaia Clark with ballerina Aurora Gray
  • “The Lizard” by Steel Drums player, Dave Gerhart
  • “The Lion” by Dembrebrah African Drum & Dance Ensemble
  • “La Culebra” or “The Cobra” by Mariachi
  • Rapper Lox Chatterbox

 

Children get in FREE! Adults (18+) are $20.

๐Ÿš Free Parking & Free Transportation provided by Long Beach Transit:

Free transportation on a first-come-first-served basis. Going to the Terrace Theater: First pick-up will take place at the Michelle Obama Library at 12:15 pm. Second pick-up, from Mark Twain Library at 12:45 pm.

After the concert, the bus will leave the Terrace Theater at 4:45 pm and take passengers to the Mark Twain and Michelle Obama Libraries.
