Celebrate spring with hands-on butterfly play, pollinator discoveries, and interactive outdoor adventures designed to spark curiosity about the natural world. Families can dress up with monarch wings, explore giant spinning tops, sculpt clay insects, and embark on bug safaris across campus in search of caterpillars and butterflies.

Highlights include a colorful installation of handmade monarch butterflies crafted from upcycled materials, opportunities to support pollinators through flower-growing activities, and live caterpillar adoptions beginning March 13. Guests can raise and release native Painted Lady butterflies as part of a two-week metamorphosis science experience, with caterpillars available for purchase onsite.

Butterfly Season runs March 13 through May 17 and is included with museum admission. Caterpillar adoptions are available for an additional fee.
