Third Thursday of each month
Japanese Garden hosts self-led art evenings every third Thursday of the month with different creative themes.
Create art in the living museum setting with monthly themes designed to foster individual creativity. February features Suminagashi (Japanese marbling), April offers pastel and crayon art, and May focuses on color pencil work. Some supplies are available, though visitors are encouraged to bring their own water-soluble materials. The Garden does not allow oil or acrylic paints or non-water-soluble mediums.
