Home Depot – Free Kids Workshops

Home Depot’s Kids Workshops are a classic for a reason. Kids build a small project each month using real tools like hammers and screwdrivers, then paint and decorate their creation. Store associates serve as Workshop Captains, helping guide kids through each step.

Each child leaves with their completed project, a kids apron, an achievement pin, and a certificiate. The activity usually takes about 30 minutes.

Registration is recommended since supplies are limited.

Lowe’s – Free Kids Workshops

When: Third Saturdays • 10am
Ages: 4-11

Lowe’s Kids Workshops are part of the MyLowe’s Rewards Kids Club, which is free to join. Workshops are led by Lowe’s Red Vests and focus on building themed projects that kids can take home. Each session lasts about 30–45 minutes, depending on the project.

Kids earn both physical and digital badges for attending, working toward rewards like a free tool bag through the Builder Recognition program. Families can also expect small perks, like a free organic lollipop for Kids Club members during store visits. Registration required.

JCPenny – Kids Zone

When: Second Saturdays • 11am

JCPenney’s Kids Zone is a simple, craft-focused event. Kids create a free craft and receive an ID badge and lanyard. After completing six crafts over time, they earn a craft medallion. Families also receive an extra-savings coupon during the event. No registration required.

IKEA – Free Store Events

IKEA stores regularly host free kids activities like crafts, movie nights, cooking workshops, and seasonal events. Offerings vary by store, and registration is usually required.

Apple’s Today at Apple sessions include creative classes designed for kids and families such as creating comics, making a theme songs, coding a first app, filmmaking, and more. Devices are provided or bring your own. A parent or guardian must attend with their child. Age recommendations depend on the specific class. Sign up online.

Lakeshore – Free Events for Kids
