Free instruction to improve skills and consistent shooting technique (8+). Must take safety class before taking beginning class; sign up begins at 9 a.m. Advanced, 9-10:20 a.m.; beginners, 10:30-11:50 a.m.; and safety class, 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. Equipment provided.
Archery teaches focus, concentration and coordination. Gryphon Fencing and Fitness Studio offers beginning archery classes for kids 7 and older. Students will learn about the history and equipment in archery and safe shooting skills. During the course, students will try several styles of archery tournaments and play fun games.
Archery lessons are available and equipment is provided. Lessons are taught with Recurve Bows and done on a first-come first-serve basis; no reservations. There is limited spaces in each group lesson (recommended age is 8+). Birthday party, scout outing and special event packages available.
Join Mile Square Park Staff for beginning archery courses for first time archers! This course will include an introduction to the sport of archery and safety instruction. All archery equipment will be provided. Select Saturdays, register online.
Lessons (ages 9 and up) include rental equipment, targets, and an hour of full instruction. J.O.A.D Leagues are available for younger shooters. Open shoot time, birthday parties, and scout group programs are available.
The national governing body for archery coordinates the Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) program which offers youth (8-20) the opportunity to compete in competitions. Free referrals to clubs (including JOAD), tournaments and camps near you. Referrals for adaptive programs, too.
New archery program for tweens and teens offered by the City of Garden Grove. Archery equipment is provided, and Youth Explore Archery curriculum is taught by certified USAA Level 2 instructors. No prior experience required; space is limited.
