SUMMARY:The Empire Strides Back | Granada Beach\, Long Beach
DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, May 3\, 2026 \nLace up your running shoes — and maybe your Stormtrooper armor — for a Star Wars-themed 5K\, 10K\, and half marathon along the Long Beach waterfront. \nCostumes are encouraged\, with photo ops featuring galaxy-themed props and backdrops throughout the course. Members of the 501st Legion — a premier Star Wars costuming group — will be on site with screen-accurate characters at the finish line. \nRace distances include a half marathon (starting at 7am)\, 5K and 10K (starting at 8am)\, a 1-miler (9am)\, and a kids dash (9:30am). Same-day registration and bib pick-up open at 6am. \nEvent highlights: \n\nFinisher medal for every participant\nFree race-day photos\nChip-timed results posted on-site\nCostume contest and galaxy-themed photo ops\n501st Legion characters at the finish line\nStroller-friendly and beginner-welcoming\nWater stations and restrooms on course\nAge group and overall awards\n\nStreet parking is free; lot parking is $2 per hour\, paid at the machine in the parking lot.
