School of Rock Santa Ana Music Programs

Performance-based teaching techniques are offered in private instruction, online music lessons, and group rehearsals. Students are guided through a step-by-step process towards the ultimate goal of performing in front of a live audience. Instruction is available for all ages and skill levels:

Performance Program
Premier music program for ages 13 – 18. This program combines one-on-one lessons with weekly band rehearsals where students play iconic songs in a band with their peers. Experienced instructors assign each student parts that are tailored to them based on their age, experience, and ability to learn new skills and concepts. The goal of this curriculum is to prepare our students to take the stage and play at local music venues in front of live audiences.

Rock 101
Perfect place to start for kids and beginners ages 8-12. This program combines one-on-one lessons with weekly band rehearsals where students learn popular songs that have been simplified specifically for beginner musicians. School of Rock patented method combines performance-based music education with a unique curriculum designed for kids with no previous musical experience. The goal is to introduce young musicians to the fundamentals of their instrument while playing with a band in a positive and fun atmosphere.

Rookies
Designed for children ages 6-7 with no previous musical experience. These budding musicians receive a weekly group music lesson where they learn fundamentals like chords, rhythm and song structure. Students learn and experiment with multiple instruments so they are able to decide which they are most passionate about.

Little Wing
Designed for students ages 3-5. Little learners receive a weekly group lesson with a music education specialist who uses popular songs to teach rhythm, song structure, melody, and dynamics through play. This specially formulated curriculum encourages students to play games and participate in interactive activities which help them internalize the foundational skills they will use as their musical abilities grow.

Grad School
Open to rock and rollers over 18 who are looking to improve their musical proficiency and/or those who want to start learning an instrument with no prior experience. This program includes a weekly private lesson and a weekly group rehearsal. These rockers are placed in a group of fellow adults where they learn songs and apply key musical concepts and skills together in a band setting.

Songwriting
Fundamentals of songwriting, arrangement, and music theory to help students compose original works. This program is open to students based on maturity and musical proficiency and includes a weekly private lesson on their instrument of choice where they learn concepts, technique and theory. These principles are then applied in weekly group lessons where students work together on songwriting exercises and lyrical workshops.
