Rolling Robots – STEM & Robotics Summer Camps
Camp Locations: Palos Verdes, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Santa Monica, West LA, Glendale, Pasadena, La Cañada Flintridge, Irvine, Newport Beach, and Tustin
Ages 5-8
- Junior Robot Builders
- Super Car Build and Code
- Coding for Beginners
Campers will learn about motors, gears, electronics and how to use tools. Depending on the camp, campers will build simple machines, explore fun projects through computational thinking and the art of coding.

Ages 7-11
- My Robots Collections: Explore robot construction, mechanism, gears, motors, circuits, sensors and concepts of automation.
- LEGO Spike Robot: Programming of different tasks will be explored.
- Minecraft Build and Design: Campers will Learn Minecraft building techniques, using Red Stone, the details of command blocks, and change the look of the game using resource packs.
- 3-D Printing: Campers will use the Fusion 360 program to apply basic drawing, extruding and mirroring techniques to design 3D creations.
- Minecraft Modding: Very popular for kids who love Minecraft! Campers learn to create their own Minecraft block, item, food, tools, and even a new mob or biome, then program the objects to come alive with simple coding.

Ages 8-12
- Robot VEX IQ Build and Code: Campers peek into the VEX IQ robotics competition by building, and coding their own robots.
- Coding for Gaming: Campers create their own game by learning to code using advanced operations with computational thinking to create multi-level games with interactive animations using Scratch. This camp prepares campers to learn Python and join robotics competitions.
- Battlebots Building: Campers learn the physics behind battlebot, mechanical design of a robot, engineering process, remote control and competition strategy.
- Unity Game Design C#: Created for kids who love video games and want to create their own with text coding. Campers use Unity to make their own multi-level, 3D maze game. Games will have custom menus, levels, characters, and sounds. They will also be introduced to C# scripting which is commonly used in many game studios.
- Code in Python: Python is one of the fastest growing and the most popular programming languages. During this camp, campers create their own projects. They learn the fundamentals and the logic of coding, and Python features such as lists, dictionaries, lambdas and more in a text coding environment.
- Roblox Coding: Design your own Roblox Game – This is a serious and super fun coding camp. Using the Roblox Game Studio, campers design their own characters and levels to create a playable game. They learn object-oriented programming using the LUA programming language.

Ages 10 and up
- FIRST LEGO League- Spike Robot
- C++Coding Circuits and Sensors
- VEX V5 Team Boot Camp (Full Day)
- CAD for Robotics Competition
- C++ Coding for Robotics Competition
Many of these camps are geared to prepare campers to succeed in various robotics competitions. The camps offer training in multiple coding languages as well as CAD software. Upon completion of these camps students will be prepared for both engineering related courses as well as the rigor of First Lego League, VEX IQ and VEX V5 competition teams. Some of these camps are prerequisite for joining our world-class award winning robotics competition teams in the new season.
