Pretend City Children’s Museum
Pretend City offers special monthly events that provide parents with important resources to help them stay on track of their child’s healthy development.
Baby Steps through the City – second Monday and fourth Sunday of each month
Parents with children (0-18 mos) are invited to Pretend City. Let your child learn and develop themselves while socializing with other little ones.
Way-to-Play Days – second Friday of each month
Excellent opportunities for gathering information and resources, Way To Play Day is specially designed to assist parents in finding answers to questions about their child’s development.
• ASQ Developmental Check-ups, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.: Assess speech, motor, cognitive and social areas (first come, first served; limited spaces available).
• Health Screenings, 10 a.m. – noon: Programs directed at prevention, outreach and education, access to treatment, and advocacy.
Good To Go From Head To Toe: Family Autism Nights – fourth Monday of each month
Educates parents, caretakers and the community about the importance of having children (0-5) receive regular developmental checkups as part of routine, well-child visits. Research shows children learn best and develop optimally through meaningful play and hands-on learning experiences. The classes and special events offered by Good To Go help parents and caretakers engage with their children to support the development of: movement and muscle skills; communication and expression of emotions; play and social skills; thinking and problem-solving skills are.
