Los Angeles County Museum of Art
LACMA is the largest art museum in the western United States, with a collection of more than 142,000 objects that illuminate 6,000 years of artistic expression across the globe.
Children and teens can join NexGenLA, a free membership for kids under 17 years who live in L.A. County. As NexGenLA members, kids and teens can visit the museum for free anytime and bring one guest for free admission.
Family activities include painting in the Boone Children’s Gallery, Family Days with tours, art-making on Sundays, story times, and art classes/workshops.
Family Guides for kids (6-12) are available at the ticket office.
While there, be sure to visit LACMA’s Broad Contemporary Art Museum to see more than a thousand miniature cars zooming through Chris Burden’s kinetic sculpture, Metropolis II.
Free for children 17 and under. Free general admission on the second Tuesday of the month, select federal holidays and Monday – Friday, after 3 p.m. to Los Angeles County residents.
