Getty Center and Getty Villa
The Getty Museum campuses feature art from all over the world including paintings, sculptures, and decorative arts from the Middle Ages to the early twentieth century.
The Getty Center features world-class art, and views of Los Angeles. Enjoy the Family Room, where kids can hunt for art treasure or become artists themselves by drawing, building, and playing just like the artists featured throughout the museum did. Visit their website for a list of current exhibitions.
Visit the Villa and take a garden tour to see Assyria: Palace Art of Ancient Iraq, the Villa’s featured exhibit through September 5. Families can learn and play in the Family Forum, where children can learn about Ancient Greece and even act out their own heroic story in the shadow-pose area.
Admission to the Getty campuses is always free, but a timed-entry ticket is required. Parking fees apply; free Park and Ride lots are available throughout Los Angeles County.
