The Space Center has closed to the public in response to the current COVID-19 situation and the recommendations of State and County authorities. Following the evolving guidelines from health officials and like many other public organizations, a temporary closure of CMSC is in the best interest of the community, at this point. Hands-on learning center that is dedicated to bringing the wonder and excitement of space science to children of all ages.
The 20,000-square-foot visitor center hosts the only Challenger Learning Center in the greater Los Angeles area where you can: Return to the Moon, go on a Voyage to Mars, and experience the real-life excitement of working in Mission Control or in the Spacecraft; available for field trips, team-building exercises and parties of 16 or more.
The 20,000-square-foot visitor center is equipped with not only amazing technology and visual teaching exhibits, it also holds engaging classes and workshops. Every Saturday is Saturday Science – visit for fun and educational science activities and demonstrations.
In their hands-on, public robotics lab, visitors can program a robot to run a mission to collect rock samples, just like the actual rovers that are currently running tests on Mars. Participants are taught the principles of robotic programming, engineering, failure analysis and mission management. Robotics badge/patch workshops for scouts are also offered.
Camps and birthday party packages are also offered.
