Butterfly Pavilion at Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County
The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles will open the Butterfly Pavilion and parts of their 3.5 acre Nature Gardens to the public for limited days and hours from March 18 – September 6, 2021.
This outdoor museum experience features up to thirty species of butterflies and caterpillars in a netted enclosure filled with native plants and natural light.
The store in the Butterfly Pavilion will be open for all visitors to shop for NHM, nature and butterfly-themed gifts and souvenirs. In addition, the NHM Grill will be offering a limited assortment of hot grill and grab n’ go menu items and beverages available for purchase. Limited outdoor patio seating will be available.
Butterfly Pavilion tickets are $6 and include Nature Garden access before timed entry to the Pavilion. Guests are encouraged to arrive 20-30 minutes prior to their visit to enjoy the gardens. There is no general admission fee to the museum. Parking pass is $6 and can be purchased online.
The Butterfly Pavilion will be open 4 days a week, Thursday to Sunday from 9:40 a.m. to 5 p.m. Timed tickets for the Butterfly Pavilion and advance parking reservations will be released at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 8 for the following two-week period.

The pavilion will be limited to 10 visitors, requiring advance timed-ticket reservations, mandatory face coverings for staff and visitors of 2 years and older, signage to enforce physical distancing, and a one-way path.
The Spider Pavilion is scheduled for fall season dates of September 19 – November 28, 2021. NHM will remain closed indoors until further notice in accordance with California COVID-19 directives for indoor museums.
