Birch Aquarium at Scripps is the public exploration center for the world-renowned Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego.
Perched on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, Birch Aquarium features more than 60 habitats of fishes and invertebrates. Explore their two-story Giant Kelp Forest, Hall of Fishes, Sharks Shores, and get to touch small sharks, rays, sea hares, snails, anemones, urchins, and sea cucumbers in their Tide Pool Plaza.
Outdoor Adventures Program: Join Birch Aquarium naturalists on an exclusive walking tour of Scripps Pier and learn about research conducted at Scripps Oceanography through interactive experiences. For ages 9+ (minors must be accompanied by a paid adult) and price includes admission for up to 6 participants.
The aquarium also offers summer camps, behind-the-scenes tours, and special events throughout the year.
