OCTOBER 16: Join children's author Alicia Lyons as she reads her first book, The Adventure of Super Addy and her Sidekick Wonder Dog Taffy.
Third Sundays: Family ArtMaking Workshops provide free family-oriented art-making activities. Parents and children (5+) participate together to create an art project. Workshops are free and no sign-ups are required. Stop by anytime between 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
OCTOBER 17: Try out Burgess Cotillion at their Halloween-themed "Spooky Spectacular" this month, with a free class for anyone new to the program. Participants enjoy dancing, refreshments, games, prizes and manners. Your kids will have so much fun, they'll want to join for an entire season.

AUG 26-27, SEP 23-24, OCT 21-22: Come aboard the R/V Sea Explorer and join the Ocean Institute at night off the coast of Dana Point to explore the nocturnal world of marine birds, sea lions, and bioluminescent plankton.
OCTOBER 22: Enjoy a free introductory flight! Meet your pilot, learn how airplanes work, look at aeronautical charts, explore the interior of the airplane and instrument panel, and review safety policies. Flights are 15-20 minutes and follow the basic steps in the flight pattern.
OCTOBER 22: Join the boo-tiful El Dorado Nature Center for a hare-raising good time as you trick-or-treat your way along the trails. Visit the animal education village or bounce yourself silly in the Ooh-possum Patch. There will be storytelling and face painting, food trucks and crafts.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 30: Festive activities for the whole family will include live music, local artisans, and arts and crafts for kids. Free admission!
NOVEMBER 4: Wildlife Wendy and her tropical birds provide an up-close and personal encounter with the most entertaining species of the bird world. Families and friends will be instantly intrigued by the majestic macaws as they present incredible physical abilities as well as their vivacious personalities. Be ready to laugh out loud at the antics of the talking and singing parrots.
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 6: The public is invited to view ofrendas honoring the dead, and enjoy live performances, Mexican cuisine, and shop from local artisans. The event is free.

NOVEMBER 18 & 19: Audiences are in for an unbubblievable experience. Expect mind-blowing bubble magic, spectacular laser-lighting effects, and soapy masterpieces like bubble tides. Some may even find themselves inside a bubble.
NOVEMBER 23: They’re back! With star performances on The Tonight Show and Animal Planet’s Pet Stars, these canine daredevils entertain the entire family with their doggone amazing tricks. All former rescues, the adorable animal athletes thrill with their delightful antics.
SELECTED DATES DECEMBER 2-18: Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella is the new Broadway adaptation of the iconic musical. This family-friendly show is for all all ages and includes the most beloved songs.
DECEMBER 2: Enjoy carnival games, pictures with Santa, food trucks and lots of falling snow!
DECEMBER 4: Celebrate with the Bowers Museum during free family festivals held monthly in the beautiful Key Courtyard.
DECEMBER 8 and 9: Take a tour of the Ranch House decked for a 1920s Christmas party and enjoy music and light refreshments in the barnyard.
DECEMBER 9: Gather your family, load the car with blankets and join us for a Holiday themed drive-in movie experience at the Lakewood Center Mall north parking lot, near the El Torito restaurant. Free goody bags will be given to each car.
DECEMBER 10: Celebrate the winter season at Rancho Los Alamitos. Learn about holiday traditions from the site’s diverse cultures over thousands of years. Activities will include music, dance performances, photo ops, crafts, food tastings, and more.
December 26-30, January 2-6: Winter Camp includes Field trips, arts and crafts, games and more. Acting and Film Production Camp is also available for children 5-13 years from December 27-30.
