SEPTEMBER 26 - DECEMBER 5: This one-of-a-kind seasonal pavilion gives you a rare glimpse into the secret life of spiders. Stroll through the open air pavilion to see hundreds of orb weavers and their amazing webs all around you. Then enter the spider den to peer into enclosed habitats that house different species.
THROUGH NOVEMBER 30: Come experience SOAR – Monarch Migration and discover the journey of the mighty monarch butterfly family. SOAR guides will help you become a butterfly detective, while their host and nectar garden will be planted with everything our western monarchs love.
OCTOBER 22 - NOVEMBER 2: Contribute to the community altar and stroll through the park to view 20 altars made by professional artists and local organizations. On Saturday, October 23, enjoy the traditional Noche de Ofrenda ceremony honoring the dead with live performances and calavera art workshops for all ages.
OCTOBER 25 - NOVEMBER 2: The nightly celebration begins in the plaza with Novenario Procession, a colorful parade honoring loved ones. Visit community altars, enjoy live entertainment, face painting, and Danza de la Muerte, a vibrant theatrical performance that tells the story of Día de los Muertos.
NOVEMBER 1-2: Enjoy live music, community altars, free art workshop, artisan vendors, and food. Register to create an altar or submit a photo to be placed on the community altar.
OCTOBER 8 - DECEMBER 31: The seasonal Christmas Boutique at Roger's Gardens is now open. Discover new treasures of festive decór, whimsical ornaments, and gifts for all ages.
SELECT NIGHTS, OCTOBER 1 - NOVEMBER 1: The family-friendly tour aims to scare and delight haunters of all ages in a dark and twisting haunted maze and spooky theatre attraction. After facing the maze, guests are treated to a family-friendly live show. Recommended for ages 8 and up. The more horrifying version of the tour is recommended for ages 17 and up.
WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 3: Celebrate Día de los Muertos at Pretend City with vibrant, educational activities for little ones. Bring a photo of your loved one to add to a special altar and partake in the celebration! Included with admission.
THURSDAYS, OCTOBER 7 - DECEMBER 16: Join a guided after-hours walk to see all the nocturnal creatures that call the Nature Center home. Pre-registration required and fills up fast!
SATURDAYS, THROUGH DECEMBER 18: Hocus Pocus (10/23), Coco (10/30), Cruella (11/6), Edward Scissorhands (11/13), The Grinch (11/20), Elf (12/11), and The Polar Express (12/18).
SATURDAYS, OCTOBER 30 - NOVEMBER 27: Every Saturday, the Academy Museum screens films for families of all ages. All films in this series are rated G or PG, unless otherwise noted.
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 6: View ofrendas honoring the dead, live performances by Semillitas Preschool’s Aztec Dancers, Ballet Folklorico Alma de Oro de Carson and Mariachi Academy of Carson. Mexican cuisine and arts and crafts will be available for purchase.
JULY 11 - NOVEMBER 7: Will Geer's Theatricum Botanicum presents "A Midsummer Night's Dream" in an outdoor amphitheatre within Topanga Canyon's lush and rustic natural surroundings.
JULY 11, SEPTEMBER 5, OCTOBER 3, and NOVEMBER 7: Enjoy free admission to the Casa with creative activities and performances based thematically on Casa Romantica's programming.
SELECT SUNDAYS, NOVEMBER 7, 2021 - JUNE 12, 2022: The Wallis continues its beloved free monthly outdoor Sunday Funday family events with a variety of engaging programming that includes Story Pirates, Parker Bent, Spring Groove, Kiddle Karoo, and more!
NOVEMBER 22, 23, and 24: Kids, ages 6- 12, get to know more about the cheetahs that call Wild Wonders home, plus campers will help care for a selection of the 100+ other exotic animals that are onsite.
OCTOBER 23 & NOVEMBER 27: Help to protect wildlife and beautify the largest park in Long Beach. All ages welcome!
SATURDAY, DECEMBER 4: Gather on Main Street to celebrate the holidays! Enjoy kids crafts, local talent show and entertainment, artisan shopping, pictures with Santa, a holiday drinks lounge, live music and more! Free to attend, open to the public.
SATURDAY, DECEMBER 4: Enjoy a traditional Mexican Christmas play depicting the nativity from the point of view of the pastores, or shepherds, who traveled to Bethlehem to see the baby Jesus. Produced by Teatro Dominguez of CSU Dominguez Hills.
