June 4-6: Celebrate National Donut Day with the Donut Life Museum! All weekend, the museum will have sweet treats, games, and giveaways with your admission for their donut themed carnival event.
MARCH 11 - SEPTEMBER 6, 2021: Butterflies are taking flight at the museum! Walk among beautiful butterflies in our seasonal Butterfly Pavilion. This springtime exhibition features hundreds of butterflies, colorful native plants, and plenty of natural light to help you see these creatures shimmer.
Weekends, June 5 - September 26: Take a ride on the Museum Railway on a real operating trolley or behind a locomotive every weekend. Parking, entry to grounds, and entry to open exhibits are free (except during special ticketed events). Select trains and trolleys run every weekend for $8-12.
APRIL 1 - JULY 31: Visit South Coast Botanic Garden for this new exhibit featuring an immersive butterfly pavilion, an emergence chamber with caterpillars and pupae, and new garden plantings of tulips, pollinators, and other butterfly-attracting flowers.
FRIDAY - SUNDAY, JUNE - AUGUST: Enjoy a stroll in the gardens at twilight on selected evenings June through August. The public is invited with pre-purchased tickets to visit the gardens 4:30-8pm, Friday through Sunday. Tickets will be released every other Tuesday at noon.
MAY 14 - AUGUST 1: Stroll through the winding paths of organic lavender fields, participate in guided tours in an antique tractor-drawn wagon, learn how lavender essential oil is extracted, and taste lavender-inspired dishes like lavender lemonade and lavender ice cream.
JUNE 9-30: YogaSix for Littles and Parents, Way to Play Day with free health screening, and Mommy Center Chat N' Play.

Saturdays, June 5-26: Enjoy a 4-hour, round-trip vintage train ride adventure!Ride on historic train cars used in several well known movies, TV shows and commercials. Includes two fun stops to explore along the route.
SATURDAY THROUGH AUGUST: Set sail aboard the schooner Spirit of Dana Point and experience California from the perspective of an early tallship explorer. Join the crew to help raise sail, handle lines, and steer the ship, or simply sit back, relax and enjoy the majesty of sailing the seas aboard a tallship.

SATURDAY, JUNE 12: Love birds, but need help identifying them? Join a Crystal Cove State Park bird expert on a guided end-of-spring bird walk on both the inland and coastal areas of the park. Look for local species and spring migrants on this lovely early morning meander.

JUNE 12, AUGUST 7, & SEPTEMBER 4: Swing to the tunes of Big Band! Enjoy a live 7-piece big band, featuring The Swing Tones, swing dancing and lessons.
JUNE 13 - SEPTEMBER 6: This summer, bubbles are taking over Kidspace. Bubble Planet is an all-new, all-outdoor experience with bubble-themed activities and soapy, spacey versions of your favorite Kidspace exhibits. The 3.5-acre campus will be filled with bubbles just for you and your family to pop, bounce, and splash.
WEDNESDAYS & THURSDAYS, JUNE 16 - JULY 28: This interactive workshop teaches children (ages 4-10) how baby chickens grow inside the egg as well as how plants grow! Children will plant their own giant sunflowers to bring home, harvest a vegetable, and visit with barnyard friends.
JUNE 17-20: Enjoy live bands, fun rides, food, fireworks, and beer garden. General admission is $5.
THURSDAY, JUNE 17 & 24: The City of Lakewood will offer two Drive-in Summer Concerts in June at Lakewood Center mall in the northwest parking lot near the El Torito restaurant.

The events will be capped off with a Fireworks Show over the Pacific Ocean.
Friday, July 2: Look to the skies for an aerial fireworks show that will take place at three locations across Lakewood. Locations include Holmes Elementary, Lakewood High, and Artesia High. Residents are encouraged to view the show from their front yards or near their homes.
Saturday, July 3: The day’s festivities include special working tours of the Printing Museum collections, including the opportunity to print your own Declaration on Franklin’s Colonial press. Enjoy activities for the whole family, see a display of vintage cars, and take home patriotic souvenirs printed on authentic tabletop presses.
SUNDAY, JULY 4: Enjoy the spectacular musical journey of Sir Elton John. Plus, enjoy patriotic favorites, Pacific Symphony's traditional salute to the U.S. Armed Forces and a brilliant fireworks finale.
