MAY 14-16: Jurassic Trails and Tales steps back in time to the era of Triceratops, Brachiosaurus, Raptor, and the ever dangerous T-Rex! The cost is $40 per group with a maximum of 8 in a group, and 1 reserved parking spot per group is included. Reservations are required, drop-ins will not be permitted.

APRIL 24 - MAY 23: TASTE: Strawberry is designed for families to enjoy an immersive experience of art, music, flavor, and fun. Follow the strawberry’s journey as you learn, play and taste your way through three multi-sensory stations. After visiting each station, you'll get to pick your own strawberries.
SUNDAY, MAY 16: Join Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation virtually for the 23rd Annual Reaching for the Cure event! Voted #1 in Orange County, this “must-do” event will feature new ways to engage outside the limits of an in-person experience through a mobile application, movement challenges, and more.
MARCH 11 - SEPTEMBER 6, 2021: Butterflies are taking flight at the museum! Walk among beautiful butterflies in our seasonal Butterfly Pavilion. This springtime exhibition features hundreds of butterflies, colorful native plants, and plenty of natural light to help you see these creatures shimmer.
APRIL 1 - JULY 31: Visit South Coast Botanic Garden for this new exhibit featuring an immersive butterfly pavilion, an emergence chamber with caterpillars and pupae, and new garden plantings of tulips, pollinators, and other butterfly-attracting flowers.
EVERY THIRD SUNDAY: Grab your leash and your fur babies and head to the Garden! During special dog walking hours, you’re invited to bring your four-legged friends to the 87 acres of the Garden.
SUNDAY, MAY 16: Watch live performances and enjoy springtime activities on the Argyros Plaza. Activities include springtime-themed cookie decorating, create your own mini herb garden, decorate and wear a pair of butterfly wings, and more!
TUESDAYS: Nearly 50 vendors will be spread across the first three blocks of Main Street and including sections of Walnut and Olive streets. Unique crafters, local farmers and specialty packaged foods will provide a welcome range of products and services designed to attract all ages.
MAY 1 -27: Star Wars Weekend, Baby Steps, Jewish American Heritage Month, Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, Mother's Day, Eid al-Fitr, Way to Play Day, and Family Autism Night.
WEDNESDAYS & THURSDAYS, MAY 12 - JUNE 3: This interactive workshop teaches children how baby chickens grow inside the egg as well as how plants grow! Children will plant their own giant sunflowers to bring home, harvest a vegetable, and visit with barnyard friends.
THURSDAY, MAY 20: Learn how adobes are maintained and how to repair sun-dried bricks. Students will also explore how water can lead to erosion and experiment with different ways of minimizing that type of environmental damage.
EVERY FRIDAY & SATURDAY: Visit Rockin' Jump OC for Neon Jump Night featuring special strobes, black lights, and music. Wear white or glow-in-the-dark outfits to stand out. Pricer per jumper is $21 for 2 hours.
SATURDAYS, MAY 1-29: Learn about tidepools, whales and grunion, then hatch your own baby grunion, all while wiggling your toes in the sand! Sessions begin at 10am, 10:30am, 11am, and 11:30am. Reservations recommended.
SATURDAYS, NOW - MAY 29: Enjoy a 4-hour, round-trip vintage train ride adventure!Ride on historic train cars used in several well known movies, TV shows and commercials. Includes two fun stops to explore along the route.
SATURDAY, NOW - MAY 29: Set sail aboard the schooner Spirit of Dana Point and experience California from the perspective of an early tallship explorer. Join the crew to help raise sail, handle lines, and steer the ship, or simply sit back, relax and enjoy the majesty of sailing the seas aboard a tallship.
SATURDAY, MAY 22: Investigate the mysterious tracks left by wildlife on the Reserve. Learn the basics of animal tracking, including basic track shapes and sizes. Make and take your own animal track plaque.
SATURDAY, MAY 22: Learn about the life cycle of monarchs and which plants they depend on in your garden. Pot up these special plants to take home and start observing monarchs in your own garden.
SUNDAY, MAY 23: Tour the grounds in search of blooming natives. Bring a camera or your nature journal to capture their beauty, but please stay on the trail!
MONDAY, MAY 24: This self-guided Story Walk combines physical activity and literacy! Pages from a book are posted at stations along the route. As you walk through the Center, you are directed to the next page in the story.
MAY 26-31: Mission San Juan Capistrano partners with Homefront American in hosting their 2021 Field of Honor®. The display will consist of up to 400 seven-foot American flags strategically placed on the grounds of the Mission in honor of military heroes and veterans.
FRIDAY, MAY 28: This is a great workshop for parents to go out while the kids have a fun-filled evening cooking! On the menu is Homemade Flour Tortillas for Mexican Pizzas and Strawberry Cheesecake Tacos.
FRIDAY, MAY 28: Don’t miss this screening of Walt Disney’s masterpiece, Fantasia. Arrive early for after-hours access to the limited-time exhibit, "Inside the Walt Disney Archives: 50 Years of Preserving the Magic" and the Bowers Gallery Store.
SATURDAY, MAY 29: Cruise over to ADM for the Corvette meeting of the year. Enjoy live musical entertainment and food vendors.
SUNDAY, MAY 30: Enjoy the joyful Traditions of Mexico with music by Mario and Sergio - The Cuates, and guitarist Joel Aceves. Delight in dance and song by the students from the Orange County School of the Arts, and Relampago del Cielo Folklorico.
JUNE 1-3, JULY 6-8, and AUGUST 3-5: Enjoy some of the most magical songs like never before! Join musicians for an exclusive concert in an intimate open-air venue. With the expert performance of these classical musicians and the stunning atmosphere created by the gentle glow of candlelight, you'll enjoy all your favorites as if you were listening to them for the first time.
FIRST SATURDAYS: Join OC Parks' trained staff on the first Saturday of the month for an easy 1.1-mile early morning hike to the park's coastal redwood grove. You will use your five senses to engage with nature as you stroll to the redwoods.
