World Elephant Weekend at Los Angeles Zoo
Join the herd at a fun-filled weekend in celebration of World Elephant Day (August 12), where you’ll learn amazing facts about these magnificent animals and explore various ways that the Zoo and others are working to safeguard elephants in the wild.
Free with museum admission.
A special note for parents: The weekend will feature a toy elephant “Check-Up Station,” where volunteers will “examine” stuffed animals and issue certificates of health. So, before your visit, encourage your kids to pick a favorite cuddly elephant friend (or any other animal) to bring to the Zoo. Adorable plushes will also be available for purchase at the Zoo.
