Listen to birdsongs, and let a naturalist point out native birds you don’t see in your backyards, as spring brings forth the orange, red, purple and yellow colors of monkey flowers and other natives to California. Kids may see skittering lizards or rabbits, or a hawk wheeling overhead as you climb to a breathtaking viewpoint. Wear comfortable shoes, bring water, sun hats and sunscreen.
