Virtual Orange County Children’s Book Festival

This free, two-week virtual festival features authors, illustrators, and celebrities in over 50 virtual events! This spectacular event promises to entertain, spark imagination, inspire reading, and encourage kindness and caring.
The fun includes Story & Activity Time where participants can listen to stories and do activities, Blue-Ribbon Panels to discuss current concerns surrounding racism and COVID-19, and Red Carpet Time to hear from celebrities and bestselling authors.

Festival Schedule:
September 14-25 | Story & Activity Time
Enjoy a diverse lineup of authors reading their own books for children, teens, and young adults; follow along with famous studio illustrators demonstrating their drawing skills with step-by-step instructions; and, participate in additional interactive activities.
September 19 | Blue-Ribbon Panels
Two exceptional panels with distinguished panelists will address current concerns of racism and COVID-19. The “Be the Change!” panel offers guidance to parents and kids about racism; the second panel, “Good Grief!” offers help in dealing with sadness due to COVID-19 social distancing.
September 26 | Red Carpet Time
Watch accomplished movie and TV celebrities and notable, bestselling authors (including Kristen Bell & Jeff Kinney) reading their books and sharing their personal stories about themselves and their book characters. This is a highly anticipated one-day event with morning and afternoon sessions.
