Family Science Nights at Ocean Institute
Spend a summer evening getting “up close and personal” with local scientists.
Each experience will include a presentation by a guest speaker with additional activities for kids. A different topic will be covered each week.
August 22: Sailing the Seas
Explore how sailors from different cultures have utilized navigation throughout time. During Family Science Night you will tour the brig Pilgrim, raise sail on the Spirit of Dana Point, learn about navigation and create your own sounding line to determine depth.
