Andell Family Sundays – Animals of the Supernatural at LACMA

DATES: Sunday, November 3, 2019 @ 12:30 pm
| Recurring Event (See all)

Join Los Angeles Museum of Art for Andell Family Sundays. This weekly free event features artist-led workshops where you can make your own mythical and supernatural animal-inspired creations!

Learn about mythical animals such as dragons, enchanted house cats, and tengu (hint—they are part crow and excellent at martial arts!). Check out the delightful exhibition Every Living Thing: Animals in Japanese Art and see the myriad ways animals are depicted in Japanese art.

Special Performance On November 17. Enjoy a taste of the Nebuta Festival, one of the most famous festivals in Aomori Prefecture Japan. An enormous paper lantern float depicting the Japanese folk hero Kintoki will be on display. Enjoy a series of short performances by taiko drummers, flute and hand cymbal players, and dancers.

Children must be accompanied by an adult.
