10 Events Were Excited About Happening the Rest Summer
Now that 4th of July festivities are done, here’s a list of events we’re excited about happening the rest of the summer! Live theatre performances, county and state fairs, festivals and more—summer fun is in full swing!
Cardboard City – Pop-Up Art Center in Santa Monica
THURSDAYS – SUNDAYS, JULY 8 – AUGUST 29: Cardboard City is a 10,000 square foot pop-up art center with free exhibitions of cardboard sculptures and architectural models, free family crafting activities, a schedule of classes, and a shop selling tools and materials so families can make cardboard art at home. Free and open to all visitors!
Outside SCR Live Theatre Performances at Mission San Juan Capistrano
SELECT DAYS, JULY 15 – AUGUST 1: South Coast Repertory is excited to partner with Mission San Juan Capistrano to present two family-friendly, world-class theatre productions under the stars. Enjoy big-hearted comedy and live music in American Mariachi, or see the whole “Peanuts” gang in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown.
JULY 16 – AUGUST 15: The OC Fair is back with this year’s theme, It’s Time for Fun. Get your favorite fair foods, shop from local artisans, enjoy live entertainment, carnival rides, and more!

JULY 23-25: The most action-packed motorsports experience for families roars back into Los Angeles for a high-octane weekend. SoCal Monster Jam fans will witness a fierce battle for the event championship. Monster Jam athletes will be tearing up the dirt with gravity-defying feats in 12,000-pound Monster Jam trucks going head-to-head for points in Freestyle, Skills Challenges and Racing competitions.
Jurassic Quest Drive-Thru at Rose Bowl Stadium
WEDNESDAY – SUNDAY, JULY 23 – AUGUST 1: See over 70 moving and roaring dinosaurs, including the 50-foot-long Megalodon! Enjoy your own personal audio tour guide and see realistic and interactive baby dinosaurs too!
State Fair at Santa Anita Park
JULY 29 – AUGUST 22: A new state fair experience is coming to Santa Anita Park. Enjoy live musical performances, carnival rides, games, VIP experiences and more.
Seal Day at Marine Mammal Care Center Los Angeles
SATURDAY, JULY 31: Support and celebrate the critical work MMCCLA does for ocean conservation and to save seals and sea lions. Enjoy food trucks vendor booths, live music, and patient viewing.
Sawdust Summer Art Festival in Laguna Beach
NOW – SEPTEMBER 5: Sawdust Art Festival features the art of Laguna Beach artists and makers, in an eclectic handcrafted outdoor village located in the heart of Laguna Canyon. Visitors are invited to shop unique artwork in a wide range of media, and enjoy live music on three stages, roaming entertainment, daily art demonstrations and a variety of food and drink offerings.
DiscOasis at South Coast Botanic Garden
JULY 16 – SEPTEMBER 6: The DiscOasis is a theatrical walk-through journey of music, art, dancing, live performances, roller skating, and good times. The main attraction will be roller skating in the middle of the Garden’s 87 acres! Music is curated by Grammy-winning producer and rock and roll hall of fame inductee, Nile Rodgers. The DiscOasis is appropriate for all ages, however, it’s recommend that children attend in the early-evening hours.
The Adventure Lagoon Opening in Anaheim
Opening date TBA. Website launching on July 7.
