These Cool Places Offer Supervised Distance Learning

With some school campuses remaining closed, these family-friendly places are offering supervised distance learning support to help students focus and keep up with their classwork/homework while offering an awesome place to play too. If you’re a working parent, this may be a good option to consider!

PDGA / Straight A’s Gymnastics Academy

Grades: TK-6th

Location: Santa Fe Springs

The Kid’s Day & Virtual School Program at Straight A’s Gymnastics Academy is a unique day camp specifically designed for children who are required to participate in distance learning for 2020-2021 school year. Trained staff monitors daily schoolwork, follows school schedules, provides tutoring support for daily subjects, and conducts structured physical activity in the gym.

Sender One’s Climb Onward with Online Learning (COOL) Camp combines schoolwork and climbing! They’re providing a space for kids to focus on online learning, completing schoolwork, climbing, and other enrichment activities like art, yoga, music, and reading.

 

 

YMCA of Orange County

Grades K-8th

The Y offers distance learning support to assist students in meeting their teacher-assigned requirements. They have Chromebooks available (or students can bring their own) and a team of teachers who will work with the children to support learning, complete classwork and/or homework.

City of Lakewood – PALS Program (Park Alternative Learning Sites)

The PALS Program will be offered at 8 parks and will offer a safe atmosphere for children (grades 1st-5th) to complete their schoolwork and participate in virtual learning in a group setting of one adult to ten children.

 

Rockin’ Jump – Rockin’ Study Hall

Rockin’ Jump trampoline park in Santa Ana is offering the ultimate combination of study hall and recess. They’ve transformed their party rooms into socially-distanced learning pods where your kids (grades K-8th) can complete their eLearning during study hours and play in their facility.

 

YMCA of Greater Long Beach – Y Camp Academy

YMCA of Greater Long Beach (Los Altos, Lakewood, Fairfield, and Los Cerritos locations) is offering Y Camp Academy, an in-person day camp dedicated to providing a safe environment to support children (grades K-8th) in their e-learning while keeping them active and engaged throughout the day.
