7 Thoughtful Ways to Thank a Teacher Virtually

Teacher Appreciation Week is May 4-8! And while it looks and feels a little different this year, teachers definitely deserve our appreciation. Here’s some ways to celebrate and thank your teacher!

Surprise Video Call
Arrange a time with classmates to put on a surprise video call for the teacher! Take turns sharing sweet messages, drawings, poems, etc.

Send a Postcard/Letter
With everything going virtual nowadays, nothing beats a handwritten letter. If you don’t have the teacher’s address, see if you could send your letter to the school.

Record a Thank You Video
Record a video with a special message—share what you miss about seeing your teacher everyday or what you’ve learned.

Jazz Up Your Zoom Call with a Special Background

Jazz up your Zoom calls with a custom background that shows you appreciate your teacher! Use one of these backgrounds or make your own. (Zoom image guidelines are 1920px x 1080 px – 16:9 ratio. Also! The images are backwards for video mirroring.)

Create a Student Photo Collage
Make a collage with photos of your student learning and having fun with school! Or, ask friends and classmates to send in a picture to make a virtual ‘class photo’ the teacher is sure to love!

Give a Gift Card to Their Favorite Store or Restaurant
Lots of places offer gift cards or gift certificates that you could send through email. Teachers will be grateful to know they are appreciated with their next shopping trip or take-out order.

Give a Month of Their Favorite Streaming/Subscription Service
Netflix, Hulu, Spotify, Audible—these services are a MUST for staying at home. Offer to cover a month of their favorite service!
