How to Have a Jawsome Kid-Friendly Shark Week!
Shark Week is coming up on the Discovery channel and who doesn’t love learning about these super cool predators? Sink your teeth into Shark Week with these fun activities for the kids!
1. Check Out this Live Webcam of the Shark Lagoon
The Aquarium of the Pacific’s Shark Lagoon in Long Beach will get you up close and personal with some of the ocean’s most mysterious and misunderstood predators. If you can’t visit the Aquarium in person, you can watch sharks and rays swim in the big tank with this live webcam.
2. Visit CSULB’s Shark Shacks at Local Beaches
CSULB’s Shark Lab is hosting Shark Shacks at various beaches along Southern California every week. The shacks help build an appreciation for sharks by reducing fear and informing the public about sharks and other marine life. They’ll have information and activities for all ages. Visit their website to see when a Shark Shack tent will be at your local beach.
3. Shark Sundays at Heal the Bay Aquarium
Don’t miss this favorite weekly event at the Heal the Bay Aquarium. At 3:30 p.m. every Sunday, you can feast on a little knowledge about these often misunderstood animals while the horn and swell sharks cruise around the tank, noses out of the water, mouths open, anticipating the meal to come. More info on Shark Sundays here!
4. Visit Fossil Reef Park
