7 Exhibits to Visit Before Summer Ends!


Summer is in full swing and we don’t want you and your family to miss out on these special, limited-time summer exhibits! From exploring what it’s like to live in a castle to learning about animals, these special attractions are sure to keep things interesting until school starts!



40 Days of Fun | Kidspace Children’s Museum

Ends August 16

This summer Kidspace is celebrating 40 years with 40 Days of Fun! Parents can relive childhood memories of summer with spontaneous play, alongside their children. Don’t be afraid to get messy! Enjoy all the festive themes including:

  • Through August 2: Water Play
  • August 3-16: Bubbles
  • Through August 16: Random Acts of Fun
  • Through August 16: Scavenger Hunt



If I Lived in a Castle | La Habra Children’s Museum

Ends August 25

The Museum’s Changing Gallery has been transformed into a Medieval Castle, complete with drawbridge, towers and a throne room!

  • Gather veggies from the Castle Garden then visit the Medieval Kitchen to prepare a feast for the King’s Table.
  • Explore the Inner Bailey where the smith repairs armor.
  • Try on gowns in the Queen’s Chamber.
  • Purchase medicines and herbs from the Apothecary.
  • Young squires can dress up and practice archery and swordsmanship to become a knight, and then sit upon an armored steed for a photo op in the Stables.
  • In the Throne Room, little kings and queens can try on crowns, sit on a throne, learn about heraldry and coats-of-arms, and see portraits of famous kings and queens.



Butterfly Pavilion | Natural History Museum

Ends September 2

Walk among beautiful butterflies in the Butterfly Pavilion at the Natural History Museum. Watch butterflies feed on nectar and caterpillars feed on leaves. Chat with museum educators and live-animal keepers to find out what makes butterflies so special.



The Music Room | Pretend City Children’s Museum

Ends September 2

Tune in for musical performances, special activities, crafts, and a daily “Instrument Petting Zoo!” Ideal for babies and kids up to age 8.



Science + You | Discovery Cube LA

Ends September 2

Learn about human health and nutrition, scientific tools, and the methods scientists use for problem solving, investigation, and experimentation. Collect germ cells using a magnetic antibody wand, practice using a centrifuge, and get creative in their test kitchen!



DC Super Heroes | Discovery Cube OC

Ends September 8

Save the city, vie with villians, and work as a team to restore order across the DC Universe in this immersive DC environment. Explore the Hall of Justice, investigate robberies in Gotham City, hone your super hero skills in the S.T.A.R. Labs, and more. Dress up in your capes and costumes and fly off to Discovery Cube OC!



Wild Kratts | Discovery Cube LA

Ends September 8

Immerse yourself in animal habitats from around the globe, discover incredible creature powers and go on a mission to foil the villains’ nefarious plans. Explore the Lowland Tropical Rainforest, the Antarctic, Australian Outback Desert, and even your neighborhood! Don’t miss the next Animal Encounter Day on Saturday, August 17.
